Mitchel Waite

Mitch is an experienced lighting professional with more than 17 years’ experience across the industry. He currently serves as Industry Relations Leader for the UK and Europe within Lutron’s Standards Development team, working at the intersection of technology, policy and industry collaboration to help shape lighting standards, regulations and best practice across the region.

With a background spanning both commercial and technical aspects of lighting, Mitch brings a practical, market-driven perspective to standards development and industry initiatives. Prior to joining his current role, he built a strong track record in Product Management, leading cross-functional teams to develop and deliver innovative lighting and control solutions across both consumer and professional markets.

Mitch holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Kent, alongside Product Leadership training from the Chartered Institute of Marketing and advanced certifications from the Lighting Industry Association.

A committed advocate for responsible, human-focused lighting, Mitch is actively involved in initiatives promoting lighting quality, sustainability and better industry practice. His contribution to sustainability has included work recognised in CIBSE guidance on embodied carbon (TM65.2). He is particularly passionate about connecting innovation with environmental responsibility and improving the way lighting affects both people and the planet.
