James Poore
James is the founder and Creative Director of award winning lighting design consultancy JPLD having dedicated his career to lighting and he has been working in the field of architectural lighting design for over 25 years.
Over this time he has enjoyed working on an eclectic range of lighting schemes and projects across the world. From refits of shopping centres and malls, exterior & landscape lighting design, Health Spa's, retail lighting, airports, museum lighting, mixed use developments, Bars & Restaurants, Lighting festivals, master planning, interior & exterior lighting of various private residences, art projects, public realm & even the occasional castle or palace.
James is a TEDx speaker and has given talks on light and lighting both locally and internationally, has written articles for various journals and publications and is a member and national council member for the SLL (Society of Light and Lighting) and CIBSE (Chartered Institute of Building Services Engineers) as well as the ILP (Institute of Lighting Professionals), where he sits on both the education & architectural committees where he is joint chair. He is also a fellow of the RSA, an ambassador for Women In Lighting and part of the Lighting Police Advisory Board.
