About Us

Circular Lighting Live is part of Recolight’s agenda to connect the supply chain as the lighting industry moves towards net zero carbon.

The climate crises presents a huge challenge to us all. Changes are needed at Governmental levels, but businesses can do a lot to make a difference. One crucial change that is needed is to fully embrace and adopt Circular Economy principles. Legislative changes and customer requirements are placing emphasis on lighting that is truly sustainable – products that are not just energy efficient, but which are also resource efficient. We need to keep products in use for longer, rather than simply discarding them, or needlessly recycling them.

Circular Lighting Live is now in it’s third year.

Recolight

  • Set up by the lighting industry in 2005 to provide WEEE Compliance for the lighting industry, Recolight is an authority on sustainable lighting.
  • To date, it has recycled over 333 million lamps, more than all other compliance schemes put together.
  • It provides information, news, guidance and training on lighting for a circular economy in the form of events, reports, webinars and workshops.
  • It also lobbies policy makers in both the UK and Europe to ensure the right legislation is in place for the sector.
  • It maintains the largest UK network of drop-off points for lamps, luminaires, batteries and other electrical and electronic waste.
  • At Recolight, we recycle, but recycling is not always the best solution as we move towards a Circular Economy model.
