
Bob Bohannon
Bob has twin roles for Thorlux Lighting, Application Centre Manager as well as Group Sustainability Lead where he is heavily involved in Environmental Social Governance (ESG), investment grade sustainability metrics and reporting, as well as being part of their SBTi approved, net-zero goal by 2040 achievement team.
He has worked deeply on sustainability, led the lighting industry’s successful response to Minimum Energy Performance Standards (MEPS) and is a leading member of the UK lighting community as a past President of the Society of Light and Lighting. Bob is also delighted to explain and teach great lighting and is a strong believer in ethical, professional behaviours.
Bob combines lighting, technical, policy and sustainability skills, working on many major projects such as St Pancras Station, Paddington Station, Heathrow T5, Dublin Airport T2, Portsmouth Spinnaker Mast and the western concourse at London's Kings Cross station. He was co-designer for the Iron Bridge in Telford, which won both a Lux Award and a [d]arc award and was the lighting designer for White Hart Lane Station, Tottenham, which won an IES Award of Merit in 2021.
A strong believer in both Environmental and Corporate Social responsibility, he is committed to reduce the environmental impact of his activities for the sake of generations to follow. Bob was lead author of CIBSE/SLL Technical Memorandum TM66 Circular Economy & Circular Economy Assessment Method (CEAM), which won both Platinum and Green at the Build Back Better Awards.
